The SST Card (Site Safety Training)
The Site Safety Training Card (SST Card) is required on all large development construction sites in New York City. NYC Permit holders are responsible for ensuring SST cards are present and up-to-date for all workers.
What is the SST Card and How Does it Work in New York City?
SST stands for Site Safety Training, and is a New York City-based program that requires workers and supervisors to conduct a certain volume of training in order to work on jobsites with a Site Safety plan. To obtain a Worker SST Card, the minimum training requirements are 40 hours (30 hours of OSHA training, 8 hours of fall prevention, and 2 hours of drug and alcohol awareness). To obtain a Supervisor SST card, a combined 62 hours of training must be completed.
The following SST Card (pictured below) is the new standardized SST Card, as stated by the New York City Department of Buildings (DOB). The official card is offered by approved DOB Course Providers. If you are a construction worker in New York City, contact your local Course Provider to obtain your new Training Connect SST Card.
